Happy poetry day!
To celebrate - a poem from this century, by a NZ teen...
Dedication
~Chloe Sutherland
This poem is for the people who,
symbolically,
tore my paper to shreds.
For my essay
returned, wounded in a
sea of red pen
this small poem
remembers the hours spent, hunched
over a desk,
finishing it.
This poem, in all its
chaotic glory,
is to recall ideas
cascading and falling,
perfectly tangled,
onto my page.
May they rest quietly,
those who did not believe.
And those who didn’t care.
This is for the people who,
so lovingly,
tossed me into the deep end.
This poem
is for me.
