The set-up by Sophie McKenzie

Nico is your typical teenager – he goes to school, hangs out with his friends, and has just developed the ability to move things with his mind. He thought it was just a freaky thing that happened to him, but his stepfather tells him the truth, Nico is the result of the medusa project. The project produced four children, which would develop extraordinary psychic powers as they grew up, but at a cost that none of them would have chosen.

Now Nico is making new friends and going new places – but there is also something going on beneath the surface that he just doesn’t get. Jack may heave helped him develop his skills, but there are things that Jack isn’t telling him. One bonus of his new skills is that he gets to meet Dylan and Edward – but at what cost?

If you enjoy action series like Cherub, Traces, and Alex Rider then this may be just the series for you. The action is fast paced, and while the beginning of the book jumps straight into the action (which leaves you with some questions), those questions are answered very quickly. This is the first book in the series, and the first few books are already available from the library. This series offers a new twist in the secret agent, special ops for children series and is not to be missed.

A five star read.
