Recommendation: Paranormalcy

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Even though Evie is only a teenager she already has an important job with the International Paranormal Containment Agency – she bags and tags supernaturals. She has the unique ability to see through any glamour so she is sent out into the world to find the vampires, werewolves, and other supernaturals that are causing havoc in the normal world. The only thing that scares her is a faerie named Reth, a faerie that no one else believes is dangerous. Into her ordered and logical world comes a stranger who can change shape and form, and a dangerous killer that can kill any supernaturals – including those that are meant to be immortal. With her friends and colleagues in the firing line, Evie must figure out why she is so special, and why she can do the things that she can do. If she can’t, then she will loose everything she has ever loved.

This is a story that flows from start to finish, with twists and turns in the tale to keep you guessing as you rush towards the end. The characters come to life with their flaws, secrets, and twisted schemes. A highly recommended stand-alone read, but hopefully not the last story from this talented author.

A five star read.
